Chevrolet Optra Magnum

The Chevrolet Optra Magnum – a TCDi diesel sedan in the premium car segment – was launched by General Motors India in mid 2007. The Optra Magnum comes with a 2.0-litre TCDi (Turbocharged Common Rail Direct Injection) engine that utilizes second-generation common rail technology. The new engine also has an Electric Vacuum Control Turbo, which further enhances performance. The Optra Magnum is faster and more powerful than most of the petrol driven cars currently in the market. The Optra Magnum boasts additional technological innovations like a dual mass flywheel, which significantly reduces vibration while idling, and a balanced shaft module, which ensures refined and smooth engine operation. It also helps improve NVH, as less energy is lost due to vibrating parts. It comes equipped with disc brakes in back and ventilated disc brakes up front.

The Optra Magnum has a bold look in front that complements its performance.  The restyled bumper, headlamps, grille and side fenders give it a more aggressive appearance while retaining the excellent proportions overall. The headlamps are almond shaped and come with a full chrome bezel. This was done uniquely for India to cater to local tastes. The grille has a more prominent and much larger Chevrolet bowtie than before. The Optra diesel comes with a two-year/50,000-km standard warranty with a service interval of six months or 5,000 km (whichever comes first). Service parts are competitively priced and maintenance costs are among the lowest in the segment.
