July 31, 2010

When it comes to MUVs, it is the Tavera that is ruling the roost in the Indian market. In a traffic jam or when you are zooming in the roads, your eyes will always fall on several Tavera cars carrying office staff or just family people or tourists. If it is so popular, obviously, it will be excellent in all the factors right from price, fuel efficiency, handling, engine capacity, performance, etc. And after I saw the Tavera Neo, I am all geared up to buy it. I immediately sent a request for a test drive of the Tavera Neo at after reading all the features.

The forte about Tavera Neo is its powerful turbo charged robust 2.5L diesel engine with five speed manual transmission; you can expect delivery of power of 80PS. The Aveo Models

June 16, 2010

I have been watching sedans and hatchbacks of all brands for some time. Though I have an SUV, I have been thinking of buying another car. I prefer a sedan while my wife a hatchback. The Chevrolet Aveo 1.6 caught my attention on roads as well as on car portals. I have liked the car ever since I first saw it. And my wife liked the Aveo U-VA; she has been requesting me to go for it. Of course, a sedan is costlier than a hatchback and besides the fuel efficiency you can also save money amounting to lakhs. Still, a sedan is worth the buy given the long luxury look that it exhibits.

There are two variants of the Chevy Aveo; and as I said, I preferred the Chevrolet Aveo 1.6. The 1598cc, 16 Valve, 4-Cylinder, in-line petrol engine with MPFI fuel injection system delivering maximum power of 102PS and 149Nm of maximum torque is what I liked the most besides a plethora of other advanced features. And the price tag of this Chevy Aveo in the below Rs. 8 lakh figure is low compared to other sedans.

My wife browsed through the Internet, read reviews on the Aveo U-VA and showed me the features as well. It is equipped with 1.2 petrol engine with a displacement of 1150 cc, powered by a 5 speed manual transmission gearbox. The fuel efficiency and drivability are worth mentioning. The exterior styling of the Aveo U-VA did impress me; now I am all geared up to buy it.

Zooming out in the Chevrolet Captiva LTZ

May 19, 2010

Guys, have you ever experienced zooming out in a Captiva? If you like SUVs, you will certainly like the Captiva. I did own an SUV, but I don’t know why the car didn’t favor me. Whenever I take it for a long drive, breakdowns turn the entire trip hectic and uninteresting. At last I thought of parting with it and buy another SUV. Till this time I had not tried the Captiva. My neighbor friend who owns the Chevrolet Captiva LTZ suggested that I should go for that car. And I want an SUV only. You will know the difference when you drive it; I am so used to the SUV that I hate driving other cars. Chevrolet Captiva LTZ

Taking his suggestion, I visited a few car portals to learn about the features, prices, and other factors. I also read car reviews carrying information about the Captiva LTZ. Available in both petrol and diesel variants powered with 2,400cc and 2,000cc respectively, the Captiva I think is the right choice for me. The Chevrolet Captiva LTZ VCDi, as per Pune ex-showroom, is priced at Rs 19,73,740 – quite lower than the one I owned. And the diesel mileage is excellent too; I want the diesel variant. As per car reviews, it delivers 10.5 kmpl on city roads and 12.5 kmpl on highways. I requested my neighbor to give me his Captiva LTZ for two days to which he agreed. I drove the car to my heart’s content. Well, this is the SUV that I want!

Detailed Description of Chevrolet Cars

April 23, 2010

While doing an online search for new cars in India, I came across several car portals including the GM India Corporate Site. And I visited the GM site besides two more car portals. I wanted a hatchback in between the Rs. 3.50 lakh to Rs. 4. 50 lakh category. I have seen the Chevrolet Beat on road and was quite impressed by the exterior looks. It does carry a style statement of its own. The GM India corporate site carries detailed description with images about each of the Chevrolet cars. Another car in the category of new cars in India that caught my attention was the Chevrolet Cruze. I liked the sedan as well but it was out of my budget. May be in the future when I have enough funds, I can buy it.

I want a car, a mid size car that can be easily parked, move well in congested roads, and that which takes me to office everyday without complaints. I have seen one of my colleagues, coming frustrated almost once in every week because of the breaking down of his car. Ultimately he had to sell off his car to buy a new one. I don’t want the same to happen with me. Well, I looked for other new cars in India for the extra facilities offered or the warranty covered. And at last it is GM that I opted – the Chevrolet Beat. It comes with a warranty of 100,000 km or three years, whichever is earlier.
